Yes! You heard me. I am looking for old pillows or cushions that you no longer want. Instead of throwing them away, why not give it to me so I can make art out of it! See those food packaging artworks on the wall ( in the background ), I need to stuff them with plenty of pillows so they'll be nice and squishy! Bean bag stuffing is way too expensive for me to afford, especially when I need so much of it, and even those packaging pellets aren't cheap either! So I'm asking for donations and hoping someone, anyone, will be able to help me with it. I've worked out the costs and I really can't afford buying pillows. So I thought a 'pillow donation' would be the best thing to do! You see, by giving me your old pillows instead of throwing them away, you would be recycling! Wouldn't it be nice to know that through such a simple act, you would be helping an artist!So if you'd like to help out in any way, email me at dawntanwenyi@gmail.com

Does it matter what the filling is? Can I mail one from the UK? We had a slightly dead pillow and I'm not sure where it went so if I can find it and shippings isn't too expensive I'll see what I can do for you

It's really lovely that I have readers who want to send their pillows to me even though they live at away. I really am not expecting them to do it. It's the thought that counts . To know that people like and support what I do, it's what encourges me to work even harder and make better art. So I'm sorry if it has offended you in any way.
ReplyDeleteHey Dawn, actually it does not need to be old pillows. Someone who was doing a lot of stuffies told me that they use old clothes as well. But I do think that you would have to use light coloured clothes and if you're really fussy like me, you'll have to shred them so that the cushion are not lumpy. Just a thought.
